Z Zurich Foundation Donates RM92,000 to Shelter Home for Children
- In recognition of the volunteer hours, hard work and helping hand put forward by more than 500 employees of Zurich Insurance Malaysia Berhad (ZIMB) during its annual Global Community Week (GCW), the Z Zurich Foundation has generously contributed an additional RM92,000 (equivalent to Swiss Francs CHF22,000) to Shelter Home for Children (Shelter Home), a charitable organization selected by ZIMB.
ZIMB employees have clocked in an impressive total of 3,885 business hours for a charity cook- out session during its GCW last July, one of the highest accumulated volunteer hours achieved within the Group, globally.
To commemorate the contribution made by Z Zurich Foundation, ZIMB organized a special visit to Shelter Home on 2 November and went the extra mile to spread joy and cheer to 47 children under the care of the home by fulfilling their “holiday” wish list.
The underprivileged children, ranging from as young as three years old to 18 years old received gifts in the form of books, play sets, board games, toys, clothes, shoes, as well as sports equipment; all of which were personally purchased by ZIMB employees on their goodwill. The children were also treated to delicious treats and candy-filled jars, much to their delight.
Philip Smith, Chief Executive Officer of ZIMB joined more than 30 ZIMB employees to spend some time with the children and presented the mock cheque to Jerry Foo, General Manager of Shelter Home.
Since 2014, ZIMB has been proactively contributing to the development and betterment of children through its own Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives driven by #TrueLoveForOurChildren.
